House of Tashan was built for those who love timepieces the way we do: with an understanding that a timepiece is an unmistakable statement of who you are.
I have always been drawn to the finer things in life. A handcrafted fragrance. A tailored suit. A good scotch. A fine cigar. A fine writing instrument. Each has a story behind it: the hands and hours that went into making it, and an experience you feel deeply, one that leaves you with something more. A feeling that is hard to put into words, but you know it when you feel it. To me, that is art.
From a young age, timepieces were where it all came together. A timepiece holds that same patience and craftsmanship, and wears it on your wrist, working quietly every second of the day. I chose to make it my career.
There is a moment in every day when you glance down at your wrist. You see the beauty, of course. But you also remember the time this timepiece stood beside you, through the struggles and through the smiles. Time only moves forward. A timepiece is how we hold on to it.
What keeps me here is that the craft never stops changing. There is always another reference, another maker, another detail to discover. I will never finish learning, and I would not want to.
What I never expected were the people. The relationships I have built with clients and fellow collectors have opened doors I never knew existed. To be part of someone's milestone is an honor I never take lightly, and along the way, clients have become lifelong friends. That is what the House is built on.
At the heart of House of Tashan is something simple: the shared passion and desire for something our ancestors once wore on their wrist.
If you feel it too, you belong here. You have found your Tashan.
My love for timepieces began with an unexpected gift: a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 with a Tiffany dial, my first. The artist in me was instantly mesmerized by the color. What kept me has only deepened with time. The questions I find myself returning to are the ones that first pulled me in: how was this timepiece created, and why? How can something so mechanical produce something so ethereal? I am a lifelong learner, and horology may be the one subject I will never finish studying.
A timepiece, to me, is among the truest measures of human ingenuity. We have devised a seemingly infinite number of ways to mark the same seconds, minutes, and hours, and the finest of them elevate function to art.
Ali and I founded House of Tashan for those who feel it too. I curate our timepieces and personally test each one before it changes hands. Rate, amplitude, beat error, function: measured, documented, and entrusted to you alongside the piece. I photograph every piece myself, and my goal is always the same: to capture its essence.
Because a timepiece is never only an object. Each is unique in what it inspires, and once I understand that, I know the person it is meant for. Helping you find the one piece that brings out your Tashan, your style and swagger, is what I love most about this work.
Whether you are acquiring, learning, or simply excited by timepieces, there is a place for you here.
Welcome to the House.
A passion for timepieces is best shared with those who hold it too. House of Tashan was built for them: an abode away from home for the discerning collector.
An abode for those who share the obsession, and believe a timepiece is more than an accessory: it is an expression of one's identity.
The sensibility of House of Tashan is drawn from the Mughal court at Agra. Across the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, it reached a refinement unrivaled in its age. Its emperors were patrons before they were rulers. A vessel carved from a single stone of jade, a manuscript illuminated in gold: each was held to the standard of the empire itself. Beauty was a form of authority. Craftsmanship, a measure of power.
That sensibility found its fullest expression in architecture, and above all in the arch, the defining gesture of the Mughal masterpieces, the Taj Mahal at Agra foremost among them. Our mark is drawn from those forms: three arches, a threshold through which one passes, framing the name as the court once framed what it held most precious. The House green belongs to the same lineage, an echo of the charbagh, the four-part paradise garden Shah Jahan laid before the Taj.
What that court gave to jade, to marble, to the garden, the House gives to the timepiece. The same care. The same reverence for detail. The same wonder at what a human hand can create, and the same pursuit of knowledge in coming to understand it. A fine timepiece is a work of that same order, and we hold it to that same standard.
None of this is an inheritance kept behind glass. It is a thread that runs through everything the House does: the way a piece is photographed and inspected, the decorum with which a client is received, the care taken to wrap and present a purchase, down to the note written by hand. It is not something we aspire to. It is who we are.
